Want to travel to India with me this week? You can follow along here as five Compassion bloggers witness the direct impact Compassion International sponsorship has on the children being sponsored.
Shaun shares some of Mother Teresa's words, “Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat” and the reminder of how we need those in poverty as much as they need us. Reminds me of Africa.
Here Patricia talks about "Dream Boy".. or rather, lack there of. People simply existing... having not ever seen the world that exists outside their village and not comprehending the concept of dreaming. Sadly, I can think of people I know right here in the posh comforts of the grandeur country we live in who are also living "flat lined"... without the hope and joy we have in knowing Jesus Christ. Not that poverty versus wealth plays a role in our state of joy or the ability to dream, but that it all hinges upon knowing Christ and abiding in Him... yet I know people who do know Him but aren't living a life reflecting a heart and pulse. Beloved, you have a new identity and power over darkness! We are instructed to walk in boldness while holding firm to faith... it's not suggestive for those who may be feeling particularly brave or courageous this day, rather its a command to ALL.
Be bold. Do not fear. Stand firm. Put on the armor. Pray. You ARE the salt and light. These are instructions and commissioning from the Almighty Himself! Why do you walk in the old self, in darkness, with timidity and fear? I challenge you to begin to take God at His word, walk in your identity YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN GIVEN in Christ, allow Him to abolish the curses and bondage you have been living in, and see if you do not then find yourself with a pulse, dreams, and joy that you have not known before. He told us He has given us life abundantly... begin walking in obedience and living it! Be a changed life that He may then use you to change lives.
Now put your pack back on... let's get back to India....
